Technique

The Mariana Mendez pieces are crafted with meticulous care by skilled artisans. Each piece goes through different stages carried out by an artisan's hands. Discover our process.

Our Textile pieces

Tissue

Woven one by one with extreme care, the artisans adapt the type of loom to the requirements of the product. We use looms of different shapes according to each product, we have woven three-dimensionally on the volumetric molds or in our cubic loom, developed by our brand

Dyes

The colors we work with are created in our laboratory; we use the raw material to add the color nuance according to the design and look we want to propose.

Modeling

Using our fibers' elasticity and working with different densities, we shape the fabric without cutting the frame, generating volumes, or shapes that respect the threads' visual continuity. The finished piece respects the ergonomics of the body and transforms the accessory into a clothing piece close to the body.

Our Leather pieces

Moulage

We generate the shapes in volume using the moulage technique, we first build a paper sculpture and after defining the shape, we create the patterns with which the leather will be cut.

Making

We work the skin using the traditional clothing technique, which allows us to generate pieces in leather with the appearance of clothing.

Print & finishes

Our printings are made internally using different "reserve" techniques of the material and combining resins and different types of pigments. In this particular step we work each collection researching new finishes, materials and techniques, mostly pictoric, which give our pieces new appearances
